2025 FVR Memorial
Men’s Golf Invitational

June 20 – 21 – 22, 2025

This annual event is designed to bring players together for three days of competitive golf, great food, and friendship in a beautiful setting.  Contested in 2025 in honor of George Gensemer, each year those we honor in association with the FVR Memorial had a tremendous passion for and commitment to the game of golf.

George Gensemer

Our 2025 Honoree

George Gensemer was one of the earliest members of Frosty Valley Country Club joining the club in 1961 the year the course opened for play. He was an avid golfer and played as often as work and family time would allow. He was a Frosty member for over 40 years and served on the Board of Directors multiple times. He became a low single-digit handicap golfer and, although the Frosty Valley Club championship proved elusive, he did finish runner up a couple times. He also participated in many other club tournaments in addition to events at other regional courses winning a few titles. George was married to his wife Patricia for 58 years and together they raised six children. He owned the Gensemer Meat Company which was founded by his grandfather in 1900. George’s business success led to him being named the President of the Pennsylvania Meat Processors Association in 1975. He managed the business until 1976 when he decided to turn the reins over to his sons and enter county politics. He was elected as a Columbia County Commissioner in 1976 and served four, 4-year terms, retiring in 1992. Retirement offered more opportunity to play the game he loved. He could be found playing multiple days a week with his buddies and many Sunday afternoons with his eldest son and daughter-in-law. One of his favorite sayings was “after every bad shot something good is going to happen”. He passed away in 2008.
